We are proud to announce our students amazing success in the GSASEF.
The Science Fair piques the student’s natural curiosity in STEM learning (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) by allowing them to explore topics that they are interested in. Besides it supports the children in developing a strong foundation and passion for STEM learning while developing their ‘4Cs.’ The ‘4Cs,’ collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking, are necessary skills no matter what career path the students choose later on in life.
The 4th Gateway Science Academy Science & Engineering Fair (GSASEF) was held February 18, 2017 at St. Louis Science Center. 110 students competed in the different categories including Robotics, Math and Science Demos, and Projects at GSASEF.
Projects were judged on a wide range of criteria, including whether the data was gathered in a reliable way, whether the student showed originality of thought in the design of the experiment and whether the average person would be able to understand what was being displayed. Each project have been listened and analyzed carefully by the distinguished judges who are from Lindenwood, Washington, Saint Louis University and STEM related associations.
Students took home 35 first-place prizes, 20 second-place prizes, 4 third-place prizes, gift cards, and certificates.
First-place winners are eligible to apply to 14th Concept Schools Science & Engineering Fair (CONSEF) in Cleveland, OH on April 8th, 2017.
Congratulations to all participants!
